If you are going to build a studio or control room, the first piece of acoustics knowledge you must know about is the ancient Greeks' "perfect" sounding dimensions, the Golden Section. If you conform your room dimensions to this ancient formula, you will discover for yourself why the Greek's called it the "perfect sounding space."  As soon as you try, you can easily find that you  don't have the room to use the "right" dimensions.  What to do?

In a series of four tip articles (originally published in May, 2003 I explained to to use the Golden Section formula in a lot of practical situations where you didn't have the room to do it completely right.  Here's the list.
