| I hope you readers don't get tired of hearing my Motown stories, because there's a big reason I kept coming back to the subject; the reason can be summed up in one word, $UCCE$$. In the mid sixties Motown put out more hit singles than the Beatles - quite a feat. But as the Beatles broke up in the early seventies Motown continued to crank out number 1 hits for at least another half-decade. How could they do this? They had $uccess formulas that they used, which still apply today. Some of their procedures need to stay in the past, but it's surprising how many should be a part of a successful business plan in the music field today, some 40 years later. From, both my Motown roots and my professional experience I suggest the following success formula for today's music field. |
