How Much Weeding?
By Bob Dennis

Weeding?

Last Tip I described how the successful artist weeds out weaker products and only uses the best of the work.  I gave the example of a professional fashion photographer trashing 588 shots to get 12 to submit.  In other words he only used the top 2% of his work. The Motown example was also about only releasing the top 2% of the tunes as "A-Sides."

In this week's Inside The Music Biz tip, Cornbread shows how the American Idol show weeds out 199,988 contestants to pick the 12 best.  These 12 best are the top 1/100th of one percent!
