Several
years ago I wrote an article called "The Right Steps On The
Road To A Hit" which outlines the steps of creating and then
marketing a CD product. Each year the staff of DAP and
I have updated this article because your marketing and
promotional techniques need to constantly update as the
music industry continues to go through tremendous changes.
In the January 2005 the next update of this article will
post. This article previews some things we will
talk about. - Tom

So far we
have covered the initial requirements of getting the sales copies of your music
release marketed.
Last Tip
we talked about the importance of having good imagery (photos & designs) that
you can use in the packaging and promotion of your release in addition to
manufacturing tips about the sales copy and initial promotional pieces you will
need. These things are ideally done well in advance of the release date.
In this tip we talk about activities needed around the time of the release date,
about the time you start consigning product into the retail outlets.
