the producer should be going into an environment
that is conducive to creativity. The
engineer on the session needs to provide it and the producer

Much of
the creativity put into a tune comes during the session. An
environment that allows for creativity yields good results; an
environment that inhibits creativity yields poor results. One
thing that can either enhance or stultify creativity is the
rate of speed and the accuracy in recording the tracks.
The kind of session that this most effects is an overdub
session where acoustic sounds like vocals, acoustic/electric
guitars and electric bass.
