The final
mixing of a production session
assumes a good recording of a good performance for each track.
In almost every multitrack recording,
however, there is something that is less than ideal on
one or more tracks. Correcting these
recording flaws is the first step in the mixing process.
This step is sometimes considered pre-production step rather
than a mixing step.
