Can't get enough? Be sure and read my column right here at RecordingEQ.com for more tips, tricks, rants and smartassed replies to your questions!
July 26, 2002: A huge, legal document that you'll have tons of fun reading!
OK, first of all, I lied. There's no such thing as a legal document that's fun to read. On the contrary, most are filled with redundancy and padding and redundancy...just like the last sentence! So, while it won't be the most entertaining read, Click Me to head over to anti-dmca.org, which contains lots of arguments against the DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act, and if you don't know that, you REALLY need to follow the link...) and also contains the full text of the act itself down towards the bottom of the page..
To see more industry nonsense and read about how your rights to do things you've been doing for years are slowly being stripped away, click here for the RIAA homepage. Remember, next time you want to tape something on tv to watch it later -- You've may have just committed a Federal Crime™....if THIS continues...
...and just to be fair, you should read this article, explaining why Mickey Mouse wants to change the Berne Convention.....
Until next week --
Frank G
