In the Zone with WaveLab - Part 1
I recently saw a demonstration of Steinberg’s
WaveLab v6.0 at RID by Greg Ondo of Steinberg and I was quite
impressed with what I saw. I installed the program for my two office
computers and have a setup to personally do mastering out of my home
office. The
WaveLab software allows the insertion of plug-in programs in the
output stage, so I can use software like Izotope's Ozone into the
WaveLab software. Although other premium mastering programs allow
for plug-ins, the way WaveLab incorporates them in the master
section makes it extremely easy to use them.
WaveLab Windows
The software has a
total of ten windows, including windows for label production, CD &
DVD authoring in addition to the basic audio parameter windows. In
this article I'll go into the three windows that are used for the
editing and processing of the audio: 1) The Wave Window, 2) The
Audio Montage Window and 3) the Master Section.
