| Lesson 25: Bookmarking a Site | ||||||||||||
| Some sites have difficult URLs to remember. For instance, to search for Ellis Island immigration records, the URL would be www.ellisislandrecords.org as opposed to www.ellisisland.com. www.ellisisland.com would take you to an Ellis Island museum, which is not affiliated with Ellis Island Records. To make it easier to keep track of your interests, you can bookmark a particular page, within a site, even if it is within a frame. | ||||||||||||

| 9a. You are faced with a choice. If this page has links to other places, you might want to only consider how much of it to include on your hard drive. If you do not wish to copy the destination sites for each of these links, select No and click Next >. | ||||||||||||
| 9b. However, if you want to place the link destinations in your favorites as well, select Yes, and adjust how many levels deep, you would like to be saved to your hard drive and click Next >. | ||||||||||||
Note: Be careful when choosing how many levels deep you choose. For instance, saving Internet Baby Steps' Kids Corner is one thing. If you were to select yes on this page, and place a 2 into the depth box, you would not only save Kids Corner, but the each page the links were directed to would also be copied onto your computer. This could fill up a hard drive very quickly, so if the page you wish to save has many links, you might want to stick with the number 1. |
