| Lesson 23a: Customizing "News" and "Calendar" | ||||||
| Even when you're not at a computer with AOL installed, you can get local and national news or check the appointments on your calendar. | ||||||
| 1. In the News section, click on Personalize, and select Customize. | ||||||

2. Select the topics of interest, and click Save. |

| 1. In the Calendar section, click on Personalize, and select Customize. | ||||||
|

||||||
| 2. Click on the Next button. | ||||||

| 3. Select the appropriate answer, and click Next. | ||||||
|

| 4. Use the drop down arrows to select your Time Zone, State and City. | ||||||
| 5. Type in your Zip Code, and click Next. | ||||||
|

| 6. Click the button that says "Start My Calendar". | ||||||
|

||||||
| 7. Double click on a day you have an appointment. | ||||||
| 8. Type in a logical title for the appointment, and use the drop down arrows to indicate the time of the appointment and the length. | ||||||

| 9. You can also use the drop down arrows to select the appointment type, the color of the entry, as well as where and when a reminder should be sent. | ||||||
| 10. Click the button that says Repeats, to keep it as a scheduled event. | ||||||
| 11. Determine how long you want this to remain on your calendar as a scheduled event, and click OK. | ||||||

| 12. You may have to double click on the event to open it again, if clicking OK closed it. After the appointment is opened, you can insert any important notations by clicking on the Notes button. | ||||||

| 9. .The entry I have added shows up very clearly, and with just one click, I can look at a daily calendar, where I can see how close my appointments are to each other. | ||||||
