Lesson 22: Replacing AOL Toolbar Icons

As we all know, the AOL toolbar can come in very handy when we're in a hurry. But were you aware, some of the icons that can be replaced by others?? You can replace the Stock Quotes or the Perks icon with a site you would be more likely to visit. In just a couple of easy steps, you can have a toolbar more exclusive to your needs, instead of the less personal toolbar AOL starts you off with.

Removing Unwanted Icons

1. Right click the icon you would like to remove, and click the button that says "Remove from Toolbar".

2. Click on the Yes button.

Inserting New Icons

3. Place your mouse over the little heart in the upper right corner of the site.

4. Hold the mouse button down, and drag the heart to the blank purple area.

Note: Sometimes you will have to try more than once, in order to grab it.

5. Type in a short name for that site.

6. Using the horizontal scrollbar, find an image that would best represent the site.

7. Click OK to save the changes

Your AOL Toolbar will now display the new icon
