Lesson 10:  Recovering Mail
Learn how to recover e-mail that has been inadvertently deleted or e-mail that is no longer in your mail box.

1. If you are looking for saved e-mail that is no longer showing in your in box, you can still access the desired e-mail by selecting Personal Filing Cabinet in the drop down menu on the Mail button.

2. Click on the Add Folder button.

3. Give the folder a logical name (like Internet Baby Steps) and click OK.  Customize your filing cabinet to fit the categories you feel are appropriate.

4. If you are unhappy with the name you have given the folder, select it and click on Rename.
5. After editing the name of the folder, click a blank area of the File Cabinet window to register the changes.

6. Folders and files can be deleted by pushing the Delete button after selecting the appropriate item.

7.  You may also select how the files are displayed within each folder by clicking the Sort folder by... button.  You may sort by date, subject, mail type (with attachments/links) or e-mail address.

8. By selecting the Find button, you may locate e-mail with a particular topic in the subject line... even if you don't remember any other details about it.

9.  You can save mail into specific filing cabinet folders as you are reading them, by clicking on Save to Filing Cabinet and selecting or creating the appropriate folder.

If you have inadvertently deleted an e-mail, you can recover it within the first 24 hours by clicking the down arrow on the Mail button and selecting Recently Deleted Mail.
