Lesson 8:  AOL Address Book: Adding Individuals
Having trouble remembering e-mail addresses of friends, family and business contacts?  Filling out your address book could save a lot of time and worry.  Your address book allows lists everyone in alphabetical order.  It also allows you to input 2 e-mail addresses, keep track of birthdays, anniversaries, mailing addresses, phone numbers, and even allows for notes on each individual.  AOL 6.0 and above will remember all e-mail addresses and AOL screen names entered.
 
1. Click on the down arrow on your Mail Button and select Address Book.

 

2. Click on the New Contact button.

 

3.Fill in as much information on your contact as possible, especially for the contact page.

 
4.  Click on each of the remaining tabs (Home, Work, Phone and Details), and enter the information you want readily available, wherever you are.
 
5.Click Save, to return to the Address Book.  Some of the information entered, can be seen on the right hand side of the window.  The rest of the information can be accessed by clicking on Edit

 

Note:  By double clicking on the entry, you can send an e-mail to that user.  You can also double click on a second recipient, to receive the same e-mail.

 

Also:  If you remember the beginning part of an e-mail address that is listed in your address book, AOL address book will remember the addresses, and try to complete the e-mail address for you.  If the initial suggestion AOL gives you is incorrect, keep typing.
