| How to download a picture
from the web: |
| In this lesson, I will explain how to download a picture
from the web to
your hard drive. |

Download one of
these pictures |

1. To download a picture to your hard drive, right click on the image, and select Save Picture As... |
|

|
|
|
2. Use the Save in: drop down menu to select the
desired folder for the picture. For this lesson, we will direct it to a folder
you will create on your desktop. When using the drop down menu, choose
Desktop. |

3. Create a new folder by clicking the
button. |
|
4. Right click on the new folder, and
select Rename. |
|
 |
|
|
|
5. After giving the folder a name,
click anywhere in the white area. |

|
|
|
6. Select .bmp from the Save
as type drop down menu. |
|
7. Verify the File name ends
with .bmp. If it doesn't, click the name box and type it in.

8. Click Save. |
|
 |
|
|
|
It's
always best to download pictures in a .bmp format (unless it the object is
an animation), because downloaded .jpg and .gif files are often unreliable. |
